What this is

Under the WARN Act, employers must give notice before closing a site or laying off many workers, and the California Employment Development Department (EDD) publishes the notices. This site keeps only the PERMANENT CLOSURES filed from July 2022 to October 2026, groups them by employer, and lists the employers whose closures affected 50 workers or more in total: the number of workers, the locations closed, the dates and the counties.

Who uses it

What it is not

Not the California Employment Development Department (EDD) and not the U.S. Department of Labor. A closure notice concerns a location, not the whole company: many employers here carry on elsewhere. Workers affected are those in the notices, not the company's headcount.
